Chain Break
Dash 2 tiles through an enemy. Escape a dead end.

Lode Runner · Analog Future · 100 Floors Below
After the Black Code catastrophe, humanity fell back to analog machines. Riggs, engineer-archaeologist of the Keepers of Schemes Guild, traces a signal from the ancient tower Iterium. At the bottom lies the Spark of Prometheus — enough to reignite the planet's grid. One hundred floors of gears, drones and traps stand between him and the light.
The key art holds the whole game in one frame: a lone silhouette on a rusted platform, hovering monk-sentinels with crimson eyes, gold gears in the air, and a distant point of light — the Spark — at the shaft's floor.

The tower sinks a hundred levels into the planet. Each floor is a cutaway: platforms, ladders, bars, pneumatic pipes. You see the stage from the side, as in the classic.
Every gold gear on the floor — currency and the key to the exit lift.
Dig blocks left and right. Lure drones into pits. Use the physics of falling earth.
Reach the lift. In the Workshop, spend gears to upgrade skills.
Iterium's analog guard — automata that levitate on jets of steam, each with a single red ocular. They do not blink, doubt, or tire. They hunt by sound and steam.
“We need no eyes that blink, nor minds that doubt.”

Swap places with the nearest drone. Escape a surround.
Smash the block directly ahead. Cut passages through vertical walls.
A sonic disc. Freezes a drone for 5 seconds — it becomes a platform.
For 10 seconds, a force field seals a pit. A bridge across the void.
For 3 seconds, pulls every gear within screen radius.
Wipes drone memory for 7 seconds. Pursuers lose the target.
Dash 2 tiles through an enemy. Escape a dead end.
Every pit slams shut. Drones inside are destroyed.
Highlights drone patrol trajectories.
Walk on dug-out blocks. No gold collection.
A projection runs ahead: collects, distracts, teleports.

An analog supercomputer in a hall of brass and vacuum tubes. Activate it — and the world restarts. Delay — and the Black Code learns to think.
